We welcome you and your children into the Southern Virginia University family. SVU is a place where students are prepared to launch into new opportunities and lives of success.
As the new Provost overseeing all academic program quality and development, I've been impressed with the reputation of SVU faculty. They teach with rigor but also with mentorship, with applied approaches but also with a rich understanding of the best theories and the best ways to solve the challenges of the world with the best ideas. Even before my arrival here, I knew of SVU teachers as being outwardly driven, where students experience cultures, settings, and workplace opportunities.
Importantly, the sacred mission of the University is as attractive to me as it is to you. Your children will go to Institute, serve in callings, be mentored by bishops and returned missionaries, have opportunities to work on campus, and move toward a life that is as discipleship-driven as it is career-ready.
We are in the middle of preparing to launch a series of new programs that are attractive for the careers of tomorrow. We hope to have your family be a part of the ongoing, growing story of the SVU family.
The future of SVU is exciting because the future of your children is exciting. We offer world-class instruction in a setting that is as reverent as the Lord's temples.
